Lora Spiller MD

Dr. Spiller joined the UT Health San Antonio Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics in August 2018 as an assistant professor. She graduated from the University of Evansville in 2004. Prior to attending medical school, she was awarded a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to study Portuguese and chemistry at the Universidade de Lisboa in Lisbon, Portugal. Dr. Spiller graduated from Saba University School of Medicine in 2011. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Geisinger Medical Center in 2014 and her fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics at UT Health San Antonio in 2018. She was awarded first place for Best Oral Presentation on Pediatrics Research Day at UT Health San Antonio in May 2018 for her work on growth recovery lines discovered on x-rays of abused and neglected children.
Dr. Spiller has been board certified to general pediatrics since 2014. She worked as a general pediatrician in the Geisinger Health System on the campus of Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania prior to fellowship training. Dr. Spiller is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Texas Pediatric Society. She is also a member of the Ray Helfer Society, an honorary society of physicians committed to enhancing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of child maltreatment. Dr. Spiller enjoys spending time with her two children, traveling, and exploring Texas.
