Partner with Compliance

What is your Role?

How Can You Help Create a Culture of Compliance Excellence?

Our behaviors and actions are what define us as an organization. Following the rules and regulations, performing job duties in a way that avoids harmful and/or inappropriate activities, and doing the right thing the first time and every time are all pieces of the puzzle. These pieces extend beyond us just doing our jobs and help to build strong and effective compliance practices into the everyday workflow, which sets the groundwork and expectations for a culture of compliance excellence across the institution.

Some ways to help create a culture of compliance excellence include:

  1. Attend training/retraining and education programs, as needed.
  2. Stay educated on compliance requirements for your area.
  3. Know and follow the university’s policies and procedures.
  4. Ask questions if you don’t understand something.
  5. Report any concerns of suspected noncompliance, immediately, to your supervisor or the Institutional Compliance and Privacy Office (210) 567-2014 or report it anonymously through our Compliance Hotline at (877) 507-7317.

If you are unsure as to whether an action is appropriate or a potential compliance violation, contact the compliance department. We are here to help!

What role does the Institutional Compliance and Privacy Office play?
