4/24/20 | Operational Continuity | Compliance, Privacy and Info Security Training deadlines for employees involved in COVID-19 response are suspended until 8/31/20

As all of us at UT Health San Antonio adjust to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, we are first and foremost mindful of the health and safety of our patients, as well as our employees, students and their family members.  The institution must take these important considerations into account as we all continue to respond to this pandemic.  Accordingly, the institution will temporarily extend the deadlines for the following Knowledge Center courses: General Compliance Awareness Training (GCAT), HIPAA Privacy Training, and Medicare Parts C & D General Compliance Training.  Additionally, Risk Management Education (a UT System requirement for providers) and Information Security training deadlines will also be suspended until August 31, 2020 for employees directly involved in the COVID-19 response.  All other employees not directly involved in COVID-19 response activities should complete training courses, as assigned.

As the COVID-19 environment continues to evolve, UT Health San Antonio will continue to review its policy exceptions every 30 days and make any necessary changes.  For now, these modifications will be in place until August 31, 2020.

If you have any questions concerning training requirements, please speak with your manager or contact the Institutional Compliance and Privacy Office by calling 210-567-2014.
