What is the South Texas Doctoral Bridge program?

The South Texas Doctoral Bridge Program, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), promotes the participation of individuals from underrepresented minority groups in the pursuit of advanced degrees in biomedical research by providing financial and academic support and professional development activities. The program is a partnership between UT Health San Antonio and Texas State University in San Marcos.

The South Texas Doctoral Bridge program prepares selected Master’s students at Texas State University to be competitive for admission to top-tier biomedical doctoral degree programs.

To participate in the program, you must also be enrolled as a Master’s student at Texas State University.
