How can we maintain high-quality STI care delivery in the era of COVID-19?<\/h2>\n

\"Sexually<\/p>\n

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, sexually transmitted infection (STI) service providers have needed to adapt their practices in order to provide essential health services while protecting the health of patients and providers. To support clinics\u2019 telemedicine learning, we partnered with Cardea Services<\/a> and the Texas Infertility Prevention Project (TIPP<\/a>) to launch an\u202fSTI Services Telemedicine Technical Assistance ECHO\u202fseries.<\/p>\n

This four-part\u00a0virtual\u00a0learning series will provide a foundation for telemedicine basics for those who are new to the world of telemedicine, as well as real world experiences from agencies implementing STI telemedicine services in their communities.<\/p>\n

\nCardea Services is approved as a provider of continuing nursing professional development by Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center\u2019s Commission on Accreditation.<\/p>\n

Session 1: Telemedicine Basics in Sexual Health <\/span><\/h3>\n

Session summary:<\/strong> On October 7, Cardea and UT Health San Antonio launched the STI Telemedicine Technical Assistance ECHO to provide guidance and support for clinics and providers having to implement telemedicine at short notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Session didactics focused on: 1) Regulatory considerations 2) Clinical considerations for telehealth; and 3) Hardware\/software support. The case presentation explored innovative solutions of Prism Health North Texas<\/a> in launching telemedicine to maintain care delivery while keeping patients and staff safe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
