Gastroenterologist Clinician/Educator at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level

The Division of Gastroenterology, in the Department of the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, seeks a full-time gastroenterologist clinician/educator at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level.  The primary focus of this position will be to participate in patient care in the GI Clinic and Endoscopy Center at the Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC), the flagship home of the UT Health Physicians practice, located at 8300 Floyd Curl Drive in the South Texas Medical Center.  The position also affords the opportunity to mentor Gastroenterology Fellows in learning GI consultation and endoscopy within both inpatient and outpatient settings at our University Health System hospital partner; in addition pursuit of clinical research opportunities is encouraged.

Advanced Endoscopist Clinician/Educator at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level

The Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine/Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio seeks a full time academic gastrointestinal Advanced Endoscopy (AE) clinician-educator at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank to enhance our missions in patient care, teaching and clinical research.  The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of AE inpatient consultation and inpatient/outpatient AE procedures performed at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital-Medical Center and University Hospital and will participate in outpatient AE consultation in our interdisciplinary Pancreas Clinic housed at the UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Mays Cancer Center, all located in the South Texas Medical Center. This position provides the opportunity for teaching AE fellows, Gastroenterology fellows, Internal Medicine residents and medical students in a diversity of clinical settings, as well as mentoring them in clinical research and scholarly pursuits.

Applicants for the position must possess state licensure or have application in process, must be Board certified in Gastroenterology, and should have completed or be in the process of completing training in an AE fellowship.

Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant

The Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine/Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant) to enhance patient care for University Hospital Gastroenterology Inpatient surgery. The successful candidate will provide medical care and consultation to patients under the direction and responsibility of a physician, perform medical examinations, order laboratory and medical imaging test, make preliminary diagnoses, and provide treatment. Practice is limited by state statute. Employees typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities.
