LINC Launches New Research Council for Academic Year 2025-2026

The LINC Office is pleased to announce the formation of the LINC Research Council. This Council represents a strategic step in expanding LINC’s scholarly reach and impact by fostering a collaborative, research-driven culture centered on extramural funding and evidence-based practice.
The LINC Research Council is led by Rebecca D. Moote, Pharm.D., M.Sc., BCPS, who will serve as LINC’s Assistant Director for Research and Scholarship. In this new leadership role, Dr. Moote will chair the Council and lead efforts to secure extramural funding for interprofessional education and collaborative practice-based projects. Dr. Moote has worked with LINC since 2021, bringing a passion for collaborative innovation and a commitment to improving outcomes across educational settings.
Dr. Moote will lead by example, actively pursuing external funding to support her own independent research that focuses on clinical interprofessional education and collaborative practice models in the inpatient setting. Joining Dr. Moote on the LINC Research Council are four faculty members, each bringing unique expertise and scholarly vision to the team. The following list highlights each Council member along with their active areas of interest:
- Cathy Torrington Eaton, PhD, CCC-SLP: Caregiver and provider education in caring for patients with aphasia
- Rekha Kar, PhD: Translation of classroom IPE to collaborative practice
- Noorpreet Kaur, B.D.S, M.P.H: Use of artificial intelligence and virtual reality tools to improve collaborative practice
- Sherri Cervantez, M.D.: Collaborative practice models in palliative care
Council members will individually design and lead research initiatives focused on interprofessional care, developed in collaboration with LINC stakeholders and supported by LINC’s infrastructure and network. These programs will aim to drive measurable improvements in health outcomes through innovative, interprofessional interventions. The LINC Research Council will offer peer support and collaborative opportunities to strengthen its members’ research endeavors.
