Interprofessional Education Plans
UT Health San Antonio’s Strategic Vision for fiscal years 2018-2022 identifies Teamwork & Collaboration as a core value, and it also highlights strengthening interprofessional team-based learning opportunities across the organization as a key strategy. The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is an institution-wide effort to advance our Strategic Vision by enhancing interprofessional education (IPE) at UT Health San Antonio. Key measures of success include increasing student knowledge and skills related to IPE, demonstrating schools’ and programs’ adoption of IPE as a strategic priority through increased activities integrated into programs’ curricula, and increasing opportunities for student IPE experiences across the institution.
To support integration of an increasing number of IPE activities into curricula, and in accordance with recommendations from the HPAC-National Center consensus guideline for developing quality IPE within the health professions, the LINC Academic Affairs Council spearheads the annual development, approval, and study of 12 IPE Plans representing the schools and programs listed below. IPE Plans include universal elements shared by all students at UT Health San Antonio, such as foundational learning experiences and student learning outcomes measures, as well as unique elements customized to meet targeted needs.
Each fall semester, the LINC Academic Affairs Council develops a workplan based on analysis of synergies and opportunities across IPE Plans, which is intended to guide faculty and staff efforts for the following year. Archived IPE Plans can be found at the bottom of the page.
