[vc_row][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]Led by LINC’s Assistant Director for Educational Programming, the LINC Education Council is responsible for the annual development, implementation, evaluation, and quality improvement of the LINC Longitudinal IPE Program<\/a>. This program consists of three university-wide IPE activities deliberately designed and sequenced to help students achieve progressively developmental interprofessional learning outcomes: the LINC Common IPE Experience, the LINC Simulation IPE Experience, and the LINC Clinical IPE Experience. Each member of the LINC Education Council leads an interprofessional faculty team dedicated to one of these three IPE activities and they work together to ensure continuity and cohesiveness across the program.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”custom” border_width=”8″ accent_color=”#853c27″][vc_column_text css=””]\"\"Sadie Trammell Velasquez, M.D., FACP<\/strong>

Sadie Trammell Vel\u00e1squez, M.D., FACP<\/strong>\u00a0received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA) and subsequently completed residency training in internal medicine and was selected as chief resident. After her training, she joined the faculty in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine, in 2012 and is currently an associate professor. Engaged in undergraduate medical and graduate medical education since joining faculty at UTHSA, she has held multiple teaching and leadership roles in UME and is currently the Assistant Dean for Preclinical Curriculum. With support of Linking Interprofessional Networks for Collaboration (LINC) Seed Grants, her collaborations with the School of Nursing and the School of Dentistry have successfully resulted in implementation of interprofessional education (IPE) into the LSOM and SOD curriculum. She is actively involved with LINC in increasing didactic IPE across the university and disseminating the work done, which includes three publications and over 10 posters\/oral presentations from the local to international level. In 2021, she completed the Harvard Macy Program for Educators. With LINC, she lead the development of the university-wide LINC Simulation IPE Experience.<\/p>\n

Dr. Vel\u00e1squez is board-certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine. After working in hospital medicine for 10 years, she developed and opened a weight management clinic with a collaborative team at the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System in 2021, where she currently practices clinically.\n
