[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC)<\/a> is a coalition of 22 health professions education associations and partner organizations dedicated to shaping the future of interprofessional education and practice. Central to IPEC’s influence is the IPEC Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice. This seminal report, first published in 2011, is updated every 5-7 years to reflect contemporary trends in research, policy, education, and practice.<\/p>\n

The most recent version of the IPEC competencies was published in November 2023 following two years of effort from a national working group with representatives from each IPEC organization. UT Health San Antonio played a pivotal role in shaping the 2023 report, with Dr. Joseph Zorek, Executive Director of LINC and Professor in the School of Nursing, representing the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy on the working group and serving as lead author and editor of the report.<\/p>\n
