Personal Statement:
The laboratory of Dr. Kinney studies subjects in hematopathology. She specifically specializes in anaplastic large cell lymphoma, cutaneous hematopoietic and lymphoid neoplasms, extranodal T- and NK-cell lymphoma, and hematopathology.
Research
Dr. Kinney is Professor and the Director of the Division of Hematopathology in the Department of Pathology, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She serves on the Editorial Boards of the American Journal of Surgical Pathology and the American Journal of Clinical Pathology. She served as President of the Society for Hematopathology (2012-2014) and is the current Past President. In 2013 she received the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Mastership Designation and the ASCP Board of Certification’s Distinguished Service Award. She is the author or co-author of numerous articles on her original research and has contributed thirteen chapters to text books of hematopathology. She has made invited presentations on subjects in hematopathology at innumerable national and international conferences and courses.
