4th Information Session – End of Duration of Status for Academic Program Coordinators and Mentors

This fourth information session will provide important updates regarding the upcoming transition from Duration of Status (D/S), which will take effect on September 15, 2026. The session will address how these regulatory changes may impact students who are currently enrolled in academic programs, students preparing to transfer to our institution, and individuals participating in Optional Practical Training (OPT), STEM OPT extension, or Academic Training (AT).

Attendees will receive an overview of the new requirements, key transition provisions, and potential implications for maintaining lawful F-1 and J-1 student status. The session will also offer an opportunity to ask questions and discuss individual circumstances to better understand how the changes may affect academic plans, employment authorization, and future immigration processes. We strongly encourage all academic program coordinators and mentors that have F-1 and J-1 students in their academic programs to attend this session.
