4th Information Session – End of Duration of Status for Visa Liaisons and Program Coordinators

Event Details:
This fourth information session will provide important updates regarding the upcoming transition from Duration of Status (D/S), which will take effect on September 15, 2026. The session will address how these regulatory changes may impact J-1 exchange visitors who are currently are currently conducting research and training as an alien physician.

Attendees will receive an overview of the new requirements, key transition provisions, and potential implications for maintaining lawful J-1 exchange visitor status. The session will also offer an opportunity to ask questions and discuss individual circumstances to better understand how the changes may affect program objective plans, employment authorization, and future immigration processes. We strongly encourage all visa liaisons and program coordinators to attend if their department/training program hosts J-1 exchange visitors.
