Flyer for International Education Week EventThe Campus Internationalization Committee (CIC), along with the Offices of Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs and International Services are pleased to Dr. Jason Rosenfield as this year's International Education Week keynote speaker for UT Health San Antonio.

Dr. Jason Rosenfeld, Director for DrPH, MPH Global Health Education at the Center for Medical Humanities & Ethics and Assistant Professor of Medicine, will share his professional journey from Texas to Africa, first as a United State Peace Corps Volunteer and then again as a young public health professional, and back to Texas again to lead the global health program at the Long School of Medicine. Dr. Rosenfeld will share highlights and lessons learned from two decades of collaborating with partners overseas to design, implement and evaluate community-based health programs.

Image of Jason RosenfeldDr. Jason Rosenfeld is a public health professional with over 20 years of experience designing, implementing and evaluating international and domestic community health education and behavior change programs. Jason began his career as a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana. After returning to the US, Jason supported the USAID Food for Peace program before obtaining his Masters in Public Health in Health Education and Behavioral Sciences from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Since 2011, Dr. Rosenfeld has served as the Assistant Director for Global Health at the Center for Medical Humanities & Ethics at UT Health San Antonio. Jason completed an Executive DrPH in Public Health Leadership through the University of North Carolina’s Gilling’s School of Global Public Health and joined the faculty at UT Health San Antonio as Assistant Professor of Medicine-Research in 2019. Dr. Rosenfeld currently serves in leadership positions for local, national and international organizations, including the steering committee for the Bexar County Community Health Worker Partnership (BCCP), the executive committee of the Mayor’s Fitness Council, Governing Council of the Texas Public Health Association, co-chair of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health’s Global Operations Committee, and co-chair of the Education workgroup for the Metropolitan Health Department’s COVID-19 Community Response and Equity Coalition. Dr. Rosenfeld is the Principal Investigator of Implementation for Bexar County’s Health Confianza health literacy project funded by the Department of Health and Human Services and the South Texas Community Health Worker Workforce Preparedness Collaborative funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration.
