An Early Departure Form must be completed within 10 days of employment termination and returned to OIS.<\/p>\n<h2>Termination<\/h2>\n<p>If the department terminates the H-1B employee\u2019s employment for any reason, including for lack of funding or performance issues, prior to the validity end date of the approved H-1B petition, the department <u>MUST<\/u> offer the cost of reasonable return airfare to the employee\u2019s last place of foreign residence. If the employee chooses to leave the U.S. and does not apply for a new immigration benefit, the department will provide one non-refundable, non-transferable, one-way ticket for return travel to the employee\u2019s last place of foreign residence.
