As of November 8, 2021, the country specific travel ban restrictions are out and the proclamation regarding Advancing the Safe Resumption of Global Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic<\/em><\/a> is in. This proclamation will supersede the previous travel proclamations and they are replaced with a global requirement. Any non-citizen, non-immigrant air traveler coming to the U.S. on or after November 8th will need to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status before they board the flight departing to the U.S (limited exceptions). A CDC order will require unvaccinated air travelers, including U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, to have a COVID-19 test one day prior to departure and for those fully vaccinated, they will need to have a negative COVID-19 test three days prior to departure. There will be limited exceptions for the vaccination requirement and requirements for children. Travelers can review the Fact Sheet<\/em><\/a> provided by the Biden Administration that helps to break down the information on the global air travel policy.<\/p>\n

Another good news item is that the National Interest Exceptions (NIE) will no longer be required as of November 8, 2021.<\/p>\n

All international visitors that are sponsored by UT Health San Antonio should continue to reach out to their advisor in the Office of International Services. For those international visitors that will be traveling outside the U.S., please make sure that after you return, you provide your advisor with a copy of your recent I-94 arrival record and visa document (if renewed). Another item to mention is that there still may be delays at the U.S. Embassy and Consulates so it is best to reach out soon if you should require a visa appointment.<\/p>\n
