President Biden issued a new proclamation on November 26th which took effect November 29th restricting travel from South Africa and several other countries in the region to include Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe to the U.S. due to a new variant that has been identified. This travel restriction will not include U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. It is important to note that other countries, in addition to the U.S., are implementing their own travel bans. All international visitors that are sponsored by UT Health San Antonio should continue to reach out to their advisor in the Office of International Services. For those international visitors that will be traveling outside the U.S., please make sure that after you return, you provide your advisor with a copy of your recent I-94 arrival record and visa document (if renewed). Another item to mention is that there still may be delays at the U.S. Embassy and Consulates so it is best to reach out soon if you should require a visa appointment.<\/p>\n
