Ocular Pathology Service

Since 1982, the Lions Eye Pathology Laboratory, a section of the Lions Sight Research Center at UT Health San Antonio, has supported the clinical, investigative, and academic requirements of South Texas’ ophthalmologists and their patients.

Patient pathology care, education and research is done in a CAP/CLIA certified laboratory setting.

How to Submit Specimens (include specimen submission form and billing information)

Specimens must be submitted to UT Health San Antonio Eye Pathology Laboratory with a request for specimen preparation and interpretation with report. (or request for a consultation with report).Our laboratory will bill the requesting institution. We do not bill patients! Your request maybe routed through a pathology reference laboratory of your choice. Please refer to the forms below.
