President's Message

On behalf of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, thank you for your time and willingness to review this Referral Report, which provides the documentation and evidence demonstrating compliance with Core Requirements 8.1 and 9.1.

For Core Requirement 8.1, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Fifth-Year Interim Report Review Committee found that UT Health San Antonio:

“provided evidence that it identifies, evaluates, and publishes goals and outcomes for student achievement appropriate to the institution. The institution used multiple measures and provided evidence of interventions designed to improve student success for at-risk populations. However, the institution did not provide any level of disaggregation of the IPEDS 6-Year Graduation Rate for any of its undergraduate degree programs as may have been appropriate for the institution.”

This Referral Report provides disaggregated graduation rate data for UT Health San Antonio’s undergraduate programs, as appropriate to the institution.

For Core Requirement 9.1, the Review Committee found that UT Health San Antonio:

“demonstrated that curricula for health-related or biomedical science programs are based upon fields of study appropriate to higher education and compatible with the mission and goals of the institution. The institution stated that ‘… academic programs that embody a coherent course of study compatible with the institution’s mission as a health-related institution.’ However, the Committee was unable to identify supporting evidence. The institution should provide evidence that its academic programs embody a coherent course of study.”

This Referral Report provides evidence demonstrating that UT Health San Antonio’s academic programs embody a coherent course of study.

On this website, you will find the original responses to Core Requirements 8.1 and 9.1, submitted on February 29, 2024, as part of the institution’s Fifth-Year Interim Report, along with the formal narratives and supporting documentation under the Referral Report tab.
