Chief Executive Officer, UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital

Mr. Flowers is the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital, the university’s premier facility dedicated to advanced surgical and cancer care, founded in groundbreaking research.  Appointed in 2022, Mr. Flowers led the hospital’s successful opening in December 2024, marking a transformative milestone that expanded the university’s ability to deliver exceptional, patient- and family-centered care in South Texas. Mr. Flowers has executive oversight of all clinical, operational and financial performance for the hospital and its outpatient care sites. As a member of UT Health San Antonio’s Executive Committee, he serves a pivotal role in shaping the university’s strategic direction and long-term organizational growth. With more than 30 years of expansive health care experience, Mr. Flowers has held a variety of senior operational and financial executive roles at some of the nation’s most respected health systems. He is known for fostering compassionate care, driving collaboration and championing innovation, all qualities that continue to guide his leadership and advance UT Health San Antonio’s mission to make lives better. Mr. Flowers holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in business administration from Auburn University and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
