The Biospecimen and Translational Genomics Core Laboratory offers services in the following three categories:

Biobanking

• Services for biological sample collection, processing and storage
• Assistance with submission of regulatory documents for human studies
• Construction of tissue microarrays
• Isolation of nucleic acids from biological specimens
• Quantity and quality assessment of nucleic acids (Nanodrop spectrophotometer and Agilent Bioanalyzer)

Genotyping

• TaqMan allelic discrimination analysis using a Bio-Rad CFX96 and CFX384 Touch real-time PCR system
• Absolute quantification of DNA copy number with a Bio-Rad QX200 droplet digital PCR system

Gene Expression

• Targeted gene expression analysis using the TaqMan real-time quantitative PCR or SYBR Green methods and the Bi-Rad CFX96 and CFX384 Touch real-time PCR systems
• Absolute quantification of RNA transcripts with a Bio-Rad QX200 droplet digital PCR system
