Dr. Kumar Sharma and Dr. David Baker Attend Seattle Symposium on Stem Cells, Organoids, and AI

Dr. Kumar Sharma and Dr. David Baker recently participated in the AI and Digital Biology Symposium hosted by the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) in Seattle, Washington. Held on October 9–10, 2025, this cutting-edge event brought together leading minds in stem cell biology, organoid research, and artificial intelligence to explore the future of biomedical science.

The symposium focused on the transformative role of AI in accelerating discovery and therapeutic development. Topics ranged from de novo protein and cell design, single-cell multi-omics, and multimodal imaging, to clinical applications and even the emerging influence of quantum computing in biological simulations.

Dr. David Baker, a keynote speaker and 2024 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, presented on computational protein design, highlighting innovations from the Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington. His work continues to redefine how scientists approach molecular engineering and drug development.

Dr. Kumar Sharma, known for his contributions to nephrology and regenerative medicine, engaged with fellow researchers on the integration of AI in clinical and manufacturing advances, particularly in the context of kidney disease modeling and organoid development.

This symposium served as a collaborative platform for data scientists, biologists, and clinicians to align their efforts in harnessing AI for real-world medical breakthroughs. The presence of Drs. Sharma and Baker underscored the importance of interdisciplinary leadership in shaping the future of healthcare.
