What to expect on your visit

Our General Dentistry Clinic is located on the second floor of UT Dentistry’s Center for Oral Health Care and Research at 8210 Floyd Curl Drive in San Antonio’s Medical Center. We have patient parking in the garage located behind UT Dentistry’s building or use the patient drop-off at the main entrance.

The main entrance is located at the back of the building facing the parking areas.

The General Dentistry Clinic is on the second floor of the facility which can be accessed from the elevator in the main lobby when you enter the building. We ask that new patients arrive 15 minutes early to complete any patient paperwork.

We understand that visits to the dentist can cause anxiety and stress for some patients. Our clinic offers patients multiple comfort options, please let us know prior to or during your visit about any anxiety you have so that we can make sure to address those prior to treatment.

During your visit, Dr. Secrist will take some time to get to know you if this is your first visit or discuss any dental concerns, discomfort or changes for returning patients before beginning a comprehensive oral evaluation. The evaluation includes a full examination of your teeth, gums and mouth, as well as any necessary X-rays. Following the exam, Dr. Secrist will discuss any findings, and review your personalized treatment plan to help you maintain long-term oral health. If scheduled, the dental hygienist will then perform a full cleaning and polish your teeth.

New patients are encouraged to bring records or X-rays from previous dentists within the past five years in either a printed or digital format. Patient records can also be sent directly to our clinic by fax.

Patients will receive a reminder message two days prior to their scheduled appointment.

If you need to make changes to your scheduled appointment, please call us two days prior to your appointment at 210-567-6453.
