U.S. Department of State to Collect Social Media Information
The next time you need to apply for a visa, be prepared to provide all personal social media accounts that have been used within the last five years effective May 31, 2019. The U.S. Department of State is requiring that you release your username/handle for all accounts, but not your password. This new requirement applies to our nonimmigrant visa holders. Any nonimmigrant that needs a visa to pursue their objective at UT Health San Antonio will need to relinquish this information on the DS-160, even those that will be renewing their visa.
This update is part of the required screening and vetting that came out of the President’s Executive Order from March 6, 2017.
