Travel

F-1/F-2 visa holders must have a current I-20 that has been endorsed (signed) by an International Services Representative at OIS in order to re-enter the U.S. after a trip abroad. If it has not been endorsed within the last year you must obtain this signature.  Drop off your I-20 (including dependents if applicable) with the front desk in OIS and an International Services Representative will review your file and provide a signature within two business days.  It is important that you submit your request at least two weeks prior to your intended date of travel. It is your responsibility to obtain the necessary travel documents (including a visa to visit a third country, if necessary).

Once you do re-enter the U.S., please be sure to provide the OIS with your latest I-94 arrival record and visa (if applicable) for both you and any dependents.

Administrative Processing

If your visa request requires additional screening, commonly referred to as Administrative Processing, please inform your International Services Representative and department.
