Research has demonstrated the importance of clinical protocols and guidelines for improved patient care and outcomes. University Health Systems in conjunction with the UT Health San Antonio faculty have established clinical protocols for adult and pediatric trauma patients that are available on the intranet. However, logging into a UHS computer and locating these protocols on the intranet can be time consuming and inefficient for residents and Trauma team members. For this reason we have developed a mobile UHS Trauma Protocol App. This mobile application will give all trauma team providers (faculty, residents, advance practice providers and nurses) convenient access to information that will help make patient care more efficient and improve adherence to protocols.
