Kathryn Keeton, Ph.D.

Vice President and Chief of Staff

Dr. Keeton has served as vice president and chief of staff for The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio since 2023.

She plans and directs all administrative, financial and operational activities for the Office of the President representing the interests and priorities of the president and the Office of the President through the coordination and advancement of the president’s initiatives and priorities. In her role, Dr. Keeton actively engages with key internal and external stakeholders including local, state and national government representatives as well as the members of the Board of Regents and The University of Texas System on behalf of the Office of the President.

Prior to joining UT Health Science Center San Antonio, also called UT Health San Antonio, Dr. Keeton served as senior executive director for the Center for Professional Excellence at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and a Professor of Practice in the UTSA College of Business and has extensive experience in other work sectors including oil and gas, information technology, nonprofit, and aerospace (NASA).

Dr. Keeton holds a doctorate and master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Houston and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from The University of Texas at Austin. She is also a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas.
