The University has received many recent phishing messages with variations of the sender, the subject line, and the attachment name. The senders are random names, followed by a dot and a random set of numbers, ending in “@uthscsa.edu”; some examples are “Mayra.9058@UTHSCSA.EDU”, “Johnnie.9278@uthscsa.edu”, and “Elinor.8385@uthscsa.edu”. The subject lines have had some combination of the words “Payment”, “Receipt”, or “Payment Receipt”, followed by a random number.
