This email below has been confirmed as malicious or fraudulent by the Information Security department. If you have received this phishing email, do not open any attachments or follow the link(s) in the message; simply delete the email.

This email has been reported by many UT HSA employees. It is an attempt to either Phish or download dangerous malware to the receiver’s device.

One of the red flags is the wording designed to create a sense of urgency. This is often used because human’s don’t always think things through when told their account is about to be de-activated.

The second red flag is when we hover over the link. If this was actually coming from Microsoft, the link would point to an address with Microsoft.com as the domain name.

Red Flag 1. URL in link is not microsoft.com
2. To prevent account de-activation - creates urgency
