First off, requests to get information on changing the Direct Deposit for someone should always be scrutinized.

This one has a couple of Red Flags. The request came from a Gmail account and not from a UT HSA email account.

Using Uthscsa in the signature line is a Red Flag. No one at the university signs off with that. It is either their department name, UT Health SA, or UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.

If you receive an email similar to this, delete it.
