This email below has been confirmed as malicious or fraudulent by the Information Security department. If you have received this phishing email, do not open any attachments or follow the link(s) in the message; simply delete the email.

This email attempts to deceive the user into believing that they have received a bill for a substantial amount of money for the renewal of Norton products. The objective of this email is to trick the recipient into calling the provided phone number and revealing personal and financial information to the scammers. Here are the red flags:

  • Suspicious Email Address: The message comes from a .au address that is not related to Norton.
  • Generic Greeting: The message states “Dear Valued Customer”, instead of addressing the recipient by name.
  • Urgency: The email creates a sense of urgency to prompt hasty action, a common tactic in phishing emails.
  • Suspicious Phone Number: The phone number will direct recipients to call the scammer and provide personal and financial information.
