Even if the receiver has never had any payday loans, they could believe they are a victim of fraud and would want to get their name cleared. If the receiver replied to this email, they would be asked to supply personal information, possibly including banking information.
See the following red flags below:
- Advance America’s legal department would not be using a free Gmail account to send official emails.
- The sender would use your name if this was truly an email about an outstanding account.
- The sender uses scare tactics to elicit a quick reply.
