This email below has been confirmed as malicious or fraudulent by the Information Security department. If you have received this phishing email, do not open any attachments or follow the link(s) in the message; simply delete the email.

This email has many red flags that show it is not a legitimate email.

The generic greeting should give you pause but is not always a sign of a phish. However, when you look at other parts of this email, there are enough other red flags to conclude this is a phishing attempt.

If you look at the pay and hours needed, the hourly pay is between $68 – $91. Add in the a 10% sign on bonus and tuition reimbursement, this becomes a very high paying part time job for someone with no experience.

Setting up the URL so the person doesn’t have a link is clever because links can sometime get flagged by email programs. The fact the link has nothing to do with UT Health SA is a red flag. Even if we are using a third party provider for gathering this data, there would be something indicating it is affiliated with UTHSA in the URL.

Finally, the email asks you to submit your resume to a Gmail account and asks you to use your non UT Health SA email. UT Health SA Policy states, all official business must use the UTHSA email account.
