Payment Confirmation McAfee
This email below has been confirmed as malicious or fraudulent by the Information Security department. If you have received this phishing email, do not open any attachments or follow the link(s) in the message; simply delete the email. This email is designed to get the recipient to contact the phone number in this email. The phone number is not the Customer Service Number for McAfee. It is manned by the scammers and they will ask the caller to provide Personal Identifiable Information and possibly even bank information so they can “credit” the caller’s account.
The biggest red flag is the account is coming from a gmail account. This type of renewal notification would come from an account in McAfee’s domain (mcafee.com).
When an email comes in stating you have been or will be charged on an item you did not authorize, always check for the company’s customer service number in a search engine. Legitimate companies list their customer service numbers.
