There are some red flags in this email.

  1. The email is coming from a division of Samsung in Turkey that handles marketing and ads for the company, in Turkey. It doesn’t seem to have a connection with any of the work we do.
  2. They didn’t use the recipients full name in the greeting, only the username.
  3. When hovering over “Open Documents” it shows a couple of email security companies that might be noted so the recipient thinks this has gone through a security check.
  4. It also listed a domain from a real estate company in Florida. Nothing seems to tie to our university or what we do.
  5. The link to R.M. Young Company, at the bottom of the email has been scanned and it was found to download malware.
