Office of the Vice President for Governmental Relations
The Office of Governmental Relations’ mission is to timely and effectively assist UT Health San Antonio’s executive leadership in identifying, prioritizing, and advocating for the funding and policy priorities before the Texas Legislature, the U.S. Congress, local governments, relevant state, federal and local agencies, and supporters with strategic collaborations with UTHSA’s legislative delegation (state, federal, and local) and Texas’ legislative and executive leadership.
In addition, state law and University policy prohibit employees from representing the University and expressing opinions for or against any legislative action on matters relating to official University business or use any University resources, including stationery, fax machines, e-mail, and telephones, to conduct such activities. The Health Science Center’s legislative contact policy does not preclude an employee from expressing opinions for or against any legislative action as a private citizen.
