LINC Members Awarded 2024 Board of Pharmacy Specialties Research Seed Grant

The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) has awarded its annual Research Seed Grants, providing two $5,000 grants to pharmacist researchers seeking to examine the impact and value of board certification in pharmacy. These grants support innovative projects that explore critical aspects of pharmacist professional development and collaborative healthcare practices.
Dr. Rebecca Moote, LINC Scholarship Dissemination Coordinator, Dr. John Cunningham, clinical associate professor of medicine, and Dr. Joseph Zorek, Executive Director of LINC, were awarded a 2024 BPS Research Seed Grant for their project investigating the impact of pharmacist board certification on interprofessional teams in internal medicine settings. The project will explore collaborative care teams with the goal of improving patient outcomes through a deeper understanding of pharmacists’ specialized expertise.
Established in 1976 as a division of the American Pharmacists Association, the Board of Pharmacy Specialties is dedicated to advancing patient care by promoting specialized pharmacist training and recognition. With over 60,900 certifications across 15 specialties, BPS continues to position board-certified pharmacist specialists as integral members of multidisciplinary healthcare teams, setting rigorous standards for advanced pharmacy practice.
