LINC Launches New Education Council for Academic Year 2025-2026

In June 2025, a new LINC organizational model was launched. The LINC Education Council was formed to oversee the annual redesign, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes dissemination of the three university-wide IPE activities that make up the LINC Longitudinal IPE Program: the LINC Common, Simulation, and Clinical IPE Experiences.
Dr. Sadie Trammell Velásquez, in her new role as LINC’s Assistant Director for Educational Programming, will chair the LINC Education Council. She will lead, oversee the redesign, implementation, and evaluation of the LINC Longitudinal IPE Program, as well as provide administrative oversight for the LINC Core IPE Measurement Plan. Dr. Cynthia Wall will assume the role of faculty leader of the LINC Common IPE Experience. She has served for the past three years as the School of Nursing representative on this team. Dr. Wall’s active leadership in promoting interprofessional education and producing scholarship has significantly impacted not only nursing students, but students across all schools and programs as well.
Dr. Amir Begovic will take on the leadership of the LINC Simulation IPE Experience. Over the past year, he worked with Dr. Velásquez as she lead this team. Dr. Begovic will bring a deep understanding of interprofessional collaboration and fresh insights from his recent work as a chief resident.
Dr. Angela Kennedy will lead the LINC Clinical IPE Experience. She joined LINC in 2019 as the School of Health Profession’s representative to this team. As such, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. Dr. Kennedy will lead quality improvement efforts for this final experience of the LINC Longitudinal IPE Program.
The LINC Education Council held its first working session on June 12, setting the tone for an energized and collaborative start to the 2025-2026 academic year. Immediate next steps this summer include reviewing orientation and program dates, mapping proposed curricular updates to institutional IPE goals, and preparing faculty resources to support instructional teams across the LINC Common, Simulation, and Clinical IPE Experiences.
