Interprofessional Education Plans
This activity is embedded in the following IPE Plans for the current academic year:

Summary

Medical Laboratory Sciences students will partner with medical students on a patient case. They will explore the respective roles and responsibilities of members on both the clinical care and laboratory diagnostic sides of the patient care experience. Together, they will discover the process by which information related to the case moves through the system from patient-to laboratory-to clinical care staff-back to patient. Important points to identify in the process are steps where misinformation and miscommunication can negatively impact patient care and outcomes. The teams will then have the opportunity to suggest interventions in the process that would improve both the process and the outcomes.
