J-1 Exchange Visitors

UT Health San Antonio is an official program sponsor for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program as authorized by the U.S. Department of State. The broad purpose of the J-1 program is to promote international educational and cultural exchange, in order to develop mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries.

UT Health San Antonio is authorized to issue DS-2019’s for the following J-1 categories. The department will consult with OIS to choose the most appropriate category depending on the activities involved, duration of the program, and other related factors.
